PURPOSE: To enable accurate control of a granulation pressure with high accuracy by detecting the gap of compressing rolls by a gap detector and controlling the supply rate of powder by the detected output.
CONSTITUTION: A powder supplying machine 4 is driven by a motor 7 and the powder supplied by the supplying machine 4 is compacted in the ensuing compressing rolls 5. The green compact compacted by the compressing rolls 5 is disintegrated by the succeeding disintegrating rolls 6. Further a pressing mechanism 21 which presses the compressing rolls 5 by a prescribed pressure (granulation pressure) is provided and the gap detector 22 which detects the gap of the compressing rolls 5 is provided. The revolution of the motor 7 is decelerated or accelerated by the output of the detector 22 when the gap of the rolls 5 exceeds a set range or decreases below said range. The rotational control of the motor 7 is stopped and the motor 7 is rotated at the specified rotating number just before the control stop to control the supply rate of the powder in such a manner that the gap is always maintained within the set value when the gap is in the set range.
